Care and Respect for the Individual

Liverpool Adult Services is a Supported Living Service providing community care and support to people with a learning disability. At present we are supporting 39 individuals to develop skills in order to become as independent as possible and manage their own tenancies.

Our service enables people who have a learning disability to learn new skills, be included in the community, make choices, experience new activities, become more independent and increase confidence and self esteem
Our team consists of a Service Manager, Deputy Service Manager, seven team leaders and a team of professional, experienced, and committed Support Workers. The service is committed to meeting the training needs of our staff and encouraging their personal development. This, in conjunction with the organisation’s excellent Support Service, enables us to achieve our aim to provide a high quality standard of care to all our service users.
Each service user has their own support package which is individually tailored to meet their assessed needs, dreams and aspirations. The staff team provide support according to the level of each service users needs, as they develop through various aspects of their life i.e.; personal care, emotional needs, daily living skills, finance, social and communication skills. The service is funded by Supporting People and Social Services.

Our commitment is to:
Actively promote each person’s participation in the development of their own personal lifestyle
Work in partnership with families, advocates and other professionals to develop individually tailored care plans
Have positive expectations of each person’s achievement whilst recognising their potential and limitations.
Support people in accessing community facilities; local colleges, library, shops and recreational facilities, as well as maintaining their tenancy
Ensure that people are respected as individuals with individual needs and personalities
Promote service users’ right to contribute to the services provided for them.

Service users development is fundamental to our service. The level of support needed is documented through individual service users’ assessments and service user support plans. We review the support package on a six monthly basis to ensure that we are meeting the individual needs of our service users.
