Care and Respect for the Individual

 

Set in the Formby Pinewoods, Woodlands is a 12 bedded purpose built home for adults
with complex physical needs and Learning Disabilities. We have 10 single rooms and one double room, 7 with ensuite facilities. All the bedrooms are decorated to a high standard and always to the service users personal tastes.

Woodlands has three separate lounges, one which is used for relaxation with bubble tubes, relaxing music and mood lighting, We have a large dining room which contains an area for listening to music or watching TV and a small kitchen which can be used for making snacks etc.

Our aim is to provide a supportive, stimulating and homely environment to our service users, encouraging each person to develop and achieve a level of independence and choice in order to maximise their quality of life.

Our philosophy. Our services go beyond merely housing people, keeping them clean, well nourished and safe. We believe that our environment is a positive and happy place for the Service User to live and spend time in. Each person is encouraged to take an active role in their own lives and is supported to exercise the same human rights as any other member of society.

 

Woodlands welcomes and actively seeks the involvement of Social Services, Health and other agencies to enable Service Users to reach their own level of competence and to live as full a life as possible in the community and within their own environment.

We aim to ensure that social, emotional, religious and cultural values are actively responded to. Each Service User has their own person centred plan which enables the staff to work with each individual and plan how they want to live their life and reach their own personal potential.
