We wish to appoint a Senior Support Worker, supporting people with learning disabilities living throughout the Brighton and Hove community. Organised from our small office in Portslade Village, we offer a diverse range of person centred and responsive services.
For some people with high and complex needs, we offer care and support at home, and when they are out and about. (We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and compliant with their standards). For other people living in their own homes, we provide a range of active, practical, community support - to enable people to become increasingly independent in their everyday lives.
We are an approved provider for Brighton & Hove Council who commission our services for some people, while other customers purchase our support directly. As a senior member of staff you will play an important role in ensuring that we continue to understand and meet people’s wishes and needs, and can demonstrate this to commissioners and prospective future customers.
You must have experience working in a broadly similar environment with an understanding of working with people with learning disabilities/complex needs. You should hold a NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or be prepared to work towards obtaining a QCF level 2 qualification.
Ideally you will also have:
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of those who use the service
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work with confidence and own initiative
- An understanding of the person centred approach and a commitment to the care, support, and valuing of the individuals who use our service.
- A commitment to our ethos and values
- A positive attitude
